Michelle Strand

Research Interests

Michelle was a participant in the Research Experiences for Teachers run by the UNL MRSEC during Summer 2004. Michelle played a pivotal role in designing and building the deposition chamber used for our studies of magnetic fluids. The picture above shows her at a poster she presented at the 2004 Materials Research Society meeting. Michelle also presented a talk on her experiences as an RET participant in the Materials Education session.

Biography

Michelle originally intended to be a biology or chemistry teacher, but a job change and a move thrust her into becoming a physics teacher -- although she says she now can't think of teaching anything else. After teaching physics at Pius X High School in Lincoln, Michelle is currently teaching at Southeast Community College - Milford and is pursuing her M.S. in Physics at UNL.
